La Dovecote Sarlat Chambres d'Hote et Gite located in the "Golden Triangle" region of Dordogne, France, is a beautiful destination for a relaxed, classical and friendly getaway. Dordogne, also known as Frances' Duck and Truffle capital is the perfect location for food and drink enthusiasts.

After discussing the brief with the client there was a clear direction to take with this project. Wanting a modern, simple and minimalist design incorporating the dovecote attached to the property, hence the name.

I used photographs of the property to re draw a simple version of the dovecote and creating a pleasing, modern and minimalist icon that works at varying sizes.

​

The whole experience of La Dovecote is to offer its guests a friendly, calming and relaxed vacation, so I opted to include light and earthy colour palette,

contrasted with calming pastel type pinks and a deep slate grey for amazing contrast which again favoured the modern element to the overall design.

​

I wanted to match the minimalist icon with a typeface that was both elegant and modern in style had a lot of character. I chose a typeface called 'Golden' that I customised to pair with the icon.
